Soap opera legend Susan Lucci is grappling with 'tremendous loss' after revealing the death of her husband of 53 years on Wednesday. 

Helmut Huber, a TV producer and family man, died at the age of 84 from an unknown cause on Monday on Long Island, New York.

'Helmut's passing is a tremendous loss for all who knew and loved him,' a rep for the 75-year-old actress told People. 

'He was an extraordinary husband, father, https://hubet.review grandfather, and friend. The family kindly asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.' 

Although the family did not release his cause of death, they did ask that in lieu of flowers, contributions could be made to the American Stroke Association in support of stroke awareness and research, People reported. 

Lucci is best known for portraying Erica Kane on the ABC daytime drama All My Children during that show's entire network run from 1970 to 2011.

A representative for the family stated: '[He was] a family man, he was a loyal friend, and [he] loved them deeply. 

'With a roaring sense of humor, larger-than-life personality, and a practical problem-solver, he lived his life to the fullest. Mr. Huber who formerly raced motorcycles in Austria was a first-rate skier, and avid golfer, belonging to the Garden City Golf Club and Westhampton Country Club.' 

Huber, who was born in 1937, was asked to join the Austrian Ski Team. Instead, he completed an apprenticeship at Hotel Maria Theresia, which has four ski slopes nearby.

He later studied at L'Ecole Hoteliere, which is a hospitality business and hotel management business in Lausanne, Switzerland. He was top of his class, Fox News reported.  

He moved to North America at the age of 21, starting his career in Canada before heading to New York at 23. He became an American citizen in 1994.

Huber reportedly improved his English by watching John Wayne and Humphrey Bogart films, Fox News reported. 

The couple met on the job at the Garden City Hotel on Long Island when Susan was 22 and just out of college.

He went on to work as Lucci's manager and became the CEO of Pine Valley Productions.

'I got really lucky because I married somebody who is smart and handsome, and he's very confident and he has a great sense of humor,' Lucci said in 2020. 'And, fortunately, he's not only been supportive, which is a lovely word. He's been with me, really with me hands-on and right there. He's really been a rock, and I got lucky because how could I know all that going in? I was 22.' 

Huber had a similar feeling toward his wife, telling People in 1999: 'The first time I saw Susie, it hit me. Still today, she walks in a room, and I just light up.'

Aside from his wife and kids, Huber is survived by his brother, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.    

His daughter Liza has four children - Royce, 14, Brendan, 13, Hayden, 10, and Mason, eight - with tech executive Alex Hesterberg. The family revealed in 2020 that Brenden was diagnosed with cerebral palsy in 2010. 

The owner of Sage Spoonful, a line of baby care products, said she knew something was wrong when she felt 'excruciating pain' at 31 weeks into her pregnancy, leaving her doubled over in pain and nearly passing out. She was rushed to the hospital and her son was born nine weeks early.

Ten months after his birth, his parents noticed he was struggling to sit up by himself and by 19 months, he couldn't stand. A doctor revealed the diagnosis and the family started focusing on not allowing the disability to define Brenden. 

Lucci praised her daughter and said her grandson is her inspiration. The longtime supporter of the United Cerebral Palsy of New York City said at the time: 'He's taught me that you have to go forward and that life is a gift. He's a spectacular little boy.' 

In December, the actress was seen dining with her husband the night before her 75th birthday at their favorite restaurant. 

'Twas the night before my birthday,' wrote the siren in her caption.

Lucci's run on the famed soap opera landed her an Emmy in May 1999 - it was her 19th nomination.  

After the show was cancelled by ABC, the actress went on to appear in the comedy series Hot In Cleveland playing herself.

She also starred on ABC's dramatic comedy series Devious Maids from 2013 to 2016.

Lucci is also known for her pinup figure. 

Many times she has shown off her hot body on Instagram, much to the delight of her loyal 191K followers.

The brunette bombshell was in a white one-piece swimsuit as she walked on the beach during a vacation in 2020. 'GOOD morning, St Barth's,' wrote the New York native.
